Public company "Polygon" represents new multiservice terminal multiplexer PolyKom-300U-1GT, which basic purpose is to transmit up to 16 traffics E1 and IP/Ethernet (1Gb/s) traffic.

Major characteristics:

• 1,2,4,8 or 16 traffics E1;
• Ethernet 2x10/100/1000 Base-T, 2x100 Base-FX / 1000 Base-X (SFP) traffic;
• asynchronous data traffic (1 port RS-232 until 115Kbit/s, 1 port RS-485 until 115 Kbit/s);
• power’s reservation (autotesting / autoswitching);
• plug-in modules (SFP);
• SNMP manager (the checking of network device and the possibility to make changes in their configuration).

The requirement to increase throughput of IP/Ethernet networks grows every day, thus necessity in TDM streams remains. Existing networks don’t fully satisfy today's market’s requirements, and expansion of a spectrum of given services needs increase in their throughput that forces operators to use technology Gigabit Ethernet.

Gigabit Ethernet technology with IEEE 802.3 extension, uses the same pocket’s structure, formats and support of CSMA/CD protocol with full duplex, control, but allows to increase in 10 times the efficiency. So long as Gigabit Ethernet is compatible with 10Mbps and 100Mbps Ethernet, it’s easy to make shift on this technology without large spending on software, cable structure and for personnel training.
