In 1991 Scientific production enterprise "Polygon" von a tender for development the fiber-optic linear section equipment. However, because of lack of financing the work was finished by own efforts. MD-3-L became the 1st Russian fiber-optic equipment which was made by not state enterprise. In 1997 was made, produced and certified new fiber-optic linear section equipment with secondary Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy, which was satisfied the International standard’s requirements, "PolyCom-200".
During the development of this equipment in 2000 was made fiber-optic linear section equipment with tertiary hierarchy "PolyCom-300" which has higher bandwidth and up-to-date control system basing on microprocessor. On this equipment was used at first time Programmable Logic Integrated Circuit (PLIC). "PolyCom-300" – the only representative of this class in Russia, which allow not only to make the linear section, but to make local distributed network Ethernet 10 BaseT too.
Now days the fiber-optic communication system’s development and production is the basic direction for development.
The first output
Since 1991 own flexible original manufacture was created at the enterprise, which permit not only to make the experimental samples, but also to make their commercial production. Within 10 last years on the enterprise introduced more then 100 new engineering development in the sphere of electronics, communication and information technologies. Such as: special calculator "Micropac GTE", intended for geodetic researches (1992); one of the first in Russia general purpose radio station "Penguin" (1991-1993); laser equipment with digital control "Kvant-s" (1992), for dicing of substratum of geoinformation system and many others.
So, for young enterprise was possible not only to unite leading republican experts in the sphere of telecommunication equipment around itself, but also to keep scientific, technical and intellectual potential within economic transformations.
Now days the base of the employees of the enterprise consist of highly qualified engineers, graduating students of Bashkir State University and Ufa State Aviation Technical University. They got large professional experience in Ministry of production of communication facilities in the USSR and collaboration with research institute of communication Russian Federation. So that, the enterprise’s specialists have done work, which regulates general terms of designing and calculation of modern fiber-optic systems of transfer of Synchronous Digital Hierarchy.
Prehistory
Scientific production enterprise "Polygon" was found in January 1988. It was directed on science intensive technologies in the sphere of electronics and connection.
The inducement to develop this sector in Bashkortostan was the evacuation to the republic Leningrad’s plant "Krasnaya Zvezda" during World War the 2nd. After it’s returning to St. Petersburg to enterprises stood in Bashkortostan: Kirov plant and Ufa plant of communication facilities on the base of it was created drafting department "Kabel", which was the market leader in the USSR.
In 1988 some of the key specialists found Scientific production enterprise "Polygon" which was later reorganized into research institute. And it became principal partner to Scientific production enterprise "Polygon".
